Sony Finally Joins The Smart Home Market

Sony, a leading provider of gaming, electronics and entertainment products, announced at CES 2017, it would join the Smart Home market. Sony’s Xperia line of Smart products includes an earpiece, projector and robot.

Sony Xperia Ear

Like Amazon’s Alexa that resides into the Echo, the Sony Xperia Ear is a virtual personal assistant, but it is portable, so users can take it with them everywhere. The personal assistant resides inside the functional earpiece and will perform various tasks per request. She will recite text messages, deliver commands to your existing Smart Home gadgets and run web searches. The Xperia Ear can be controlled with voice commands with precision.

Sony Xperia Smart Projector

Sony Xperia Agent

The Sony Xperia Agent is an intelligent robot that is capable of supporting a wide range of Smart Home devices. The robot acts as the primary command center for the devices, but don’t expect it to look similar to the Jetson’s robot, Rosie.

Sony Xperia Projector

The Sony Xperia Projector takes precedence over the other Xperia products, because of its cool design, which is no larger than “box of Keurig K-Cups”. The Projector is capable of turning any flat surface into a “Smart” surface, plus it can be remotely controlled from a smartphone. It is so intelligent that it will replicate your smartphone’s interface and will project a virtual keyboard on any flat surface, so you can utilize it to type. The Xperia Projector can also be utilized as a video projector, so you and your friends can watch movies, with plenty of elbowroom.

Sony’s Xperia Smart Home products are expected to roll out in the second half of 2017.
