Sylvania Smart Home Unveils The First Ever Apple HomeKit-Enabled Hub-Free Smart Bulb
Sylvania Electric Products, an American–based manufacturer of electrical components, announced Tuesday it will display the first ever hub-free HomeKit-enabled Smart bulb. Apple’s Home app and Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, can control the Sylvania Smart Multicolor A19 Bulb.
The installation process is as simple as screwing the Smart bulb into an electrical socket. The wireless router will instantly detect the bulb, so all there is left to do is sync it with the Home app, which will support a variety of HomeKit-enabled products and devices such as the Smart Lock, thermostat, garage door, lighting fixtures and doorbells. Users can also connect one or multiple Sylvania Smart Bulbs and control them simultaneously.
“For more than a century, consumers have looked to the brand Sylvania for innovation, and this announcement represents another exciting advancement,” said Aaron Ganick, who heads up the Smart Home Americas group at LEDVANCE. “For us, making the Smart Home a reality for consumers is all about quality products and strong partnerships with leaders in the industry. By working with Apple to provide smart lighting that works directly with the Home app, we’re making it easier for Apple enthusiasts to seamlessly integrate quality lighting into their Smart Home, bringing convenience and simplicity to their daily lives.”
By adding the Apple TV to your home automation network, users will be able to activate the A19 Bulb from afar. Create lighting scenes and combine activities, with other HomeKit gadgets, by accessing the HomeKit app or verbally commanding Siri to perform the actions.
The Sylvania Smart Multicolor A19 Bulb will be available on Amazon in early 2017, but in the meantime, please be sure to check out the Sylvania Lightify by Osram Smart Home Starter Kit.
