The Internet of Things is classified as “Smart”, but only with the use of a gateway and Wi-Fi connection. Each has its own language, so it may or may not be able to communicate with the Smart devices connected to a home network. This is where the Smart hub will come into play, because it knows several languages, so it can communicate with innumerable devices.
Wink Hub 2
Wink, a leading provider of Smart Home products and home automation solutions, announced today a new update that will support the August Smart Lock. The company’s new Wink Hub 2 hit the market September 27, 2016. Customers, who are running their August Smart Lock on the August Connect Hub will now be able to add their lock into the Wink app.
Wink has an extended collection of supported brands, including Nest, Schlage, GE, Philips, Ecobee, Kwikset, Ring, Arlo, iHome, OSRAM, LeakSMART and many more.
