ASUS a Chinese technology company that currently has an extensive line of products including netbooks, desktops, motherboards, graphics cards, tablets, video cards, and much more. ASUS has decided to take their technical wisdom and apply it to a new Smart Lock invention.
ASUS was founded in 1989 and now has a projected revenue of over $414 billion. FCC has approved ASUS’ claim to enter the Smart Home market. The ASUS DL100 Smart Lock will be equipped with NFC and Z-Wave connectivity. It will replace the preexisting door lock, so you will not have to worry about deadbolt compatibility.
The homeowner will have multiple home access options including touchpad, mechanical key, NFC touch, and remote control. The lock is also equipped with an intrusion sensor, which will trigger an alarm, if someone tries to tamper with the lock. A notification will be sent directly to the source device, so the homeowner can eliminate the issue without delay.
ASUS has not provided much data on their new Smart Lock, so everyone will have to patiently wait for updates. According to We Got Served, ASUS has not mentioned whether or not the lock will be equipped with the Bluetooth technology, but these new Smart Home devices will hopefully hit the market sometime this year.
