Ooma, a home automation platform for consumers and small businesses, unveils its comprehensive DIY home monitoring solution, Ooma Home Monitoring. The system will transmit event alerts to the user’s connected iOS and Android devices. It features motion, door, window and water sensors, along with remote 911 calling from the home.
Utilizing the Ooma Home Monitoring mobile app, homeowners will be able to manage the system right from their smartphone or tablet. Users will have the option of receiving event alerts via email, phone call, SMS and app. The remote 911 calling feature will definitely come in handy for senior citizens, when they find themselves in a compromising situation. When the call is transmitted to the 911-call center, the caller’s information will automatically be transmitted to the dispatcher.
“Ooma’s unique hybrid cloud platform is ideally suited to enable new innovative services including our new Home Monitoring service,” said Eric Stang, CEO of Ooma. “Ooma Home Monitoring joins our recently announced Ooma Internet Security as two new Ooma-branded smart home services offered to our large base of Ooma Telo customers. Integrating Ooma Home Monitoring with Remote 911 gives our customers even greater security and convenience.”
Ooma Home Monitoring is capable of supporting up to 100 Smart sensors, utilizing the latest version of the Ooma Telo. Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT), which is utilized by cordless handsets, allows the sensors to work wirelessly.
Ooma demonstrated the new Home Monitoring System at CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Consumers will be able to preorder the system soon. In the meantime, you can check out Ooma’s extensive product line, by clicking on the following Amazon link.
